Contrast is good. the interface is not hard on the eyes at all. Not being a good webpage designer, I can't really give much critique. But I like it. It's eye catching and quite easy to look at.

Really like it, man, it's one of your best yet. The only things I feel need fixing are the navigation bar, that I feel is a little too dark to read (unless it changes colour / lights up when the mouse is over it), and that the chat-box could be made square to match the main 'Follow Up' text area and statistics box.
Other than that, I feel the title/logo area should also be made a little brighter. Seeing as both it, and the navbar are the areas the user is most likely going to click to go around the site, I think that if you made them a little more visible/readable, it would make the site far more user friendly.
Yes, the navbar is intended to light up a good 30% when mouse-overed.
I updated the deviation with a brighter top area and logo space now. Mind you, the center logo, the Title/Subtitle area, etc.. are just placeholders. I did, however, make the emblem I used a lot bolder.
The buildings on the background for "Moving Day"? Yeah, it's my own creation. On my Tyne2010 account a piece called "Zombie Sunrise". Submitted it like a year ago lol "Moving Day" and all the info I wrote about it was made just for this design. It's all fake.. I like the name though haha
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

I've also squared-up the Chatbox.
